Asterix & Obelix (English Edition)

Asterix (Perancis: Astérix) adalah karakter fiksi yang diciptakan pada tahun 1959 sebagai tokoh utama dari sebuah serial komik Perancis karya René Goscinny (naskah) dan Albert Uderzo (gambar). Uderzo melanjutkan serial ini setelah Goscinny meninggal pada tahun 1977. Serial ini telah diterjemahkan ke dalam banyak bahasa (bahkan Latin dan Yunani kuno) dan dapat dijumpai di banyak negara di dunia. Komik ini mungkin merupakan komik Perancis paling populer di dunia. Meskipun demikian, Asterix tidak seberapa populer di Amerika dan Jepang yang masing-masing telah memiliki tradisi komik yang kuat.

Kunci dari kesuksesan serial ini mungkin terletak pada ceritanya yang mengandung elemen hiburan untuk segala usia: anak-anak menyukai adegan berkelahi dan kelucuan visualnya, sementara orang yang lebih dewasa terhibur oleh berbagai parodi dan permainan kata yang digunakan dalam cerita.
